Comparative Analysis of ESG Investment and Impact Investment: A Conceptual Framework

The global financial landscape is evolving rapidly, with sustainability at the forefront of investor priorities. Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and impact investing are industry terms often used interchangeably by clients and professionals alike, under the assumption that they all describe the same approach. In India, the Adani Group, a leader in energy infrastructure, has pivoted towards renewable energy projects as part of its ESG strategy. Conversely, social enterprises like SELCO India, focused on providing sustainable energy solutions to low-income communities, highlight the core principles of impact investing. Though both are committed to sustainability, their approach to investment, governance, and outcomes reveals stark differences. In the context of contemporary global finance, understanding these distinctions is critical to assessing their roles in fostering sustainable development.   ESG Investment: Redefining Financial Narratives ESG investment is rooted

Is Love is Blind-UK a little less dramatic than expected?

Love is Blink- UK (season 1) is a reality dating show which airs on Netflix. The finale aired on 21st August and turned out to be just... fine. There wasn't any big of a twist. The viewers' assumptions pretty much turned out to be right. Let's look at the couples. 1. Demi and Ollie Photo: Netflix Yep, it was a 'NO' from Demi and did we see that coming? Umm.. yeah! Ollie had dated 2 people in the pods Cat and Demi. Cat had broken up with him because she wanted Ollie to focus on one person moreover Cat was also dating Freddie and wanted to focus on him instead. As she went on to be with Freddie, Ollie pursued Demi, he proposed she said 'yes', they met, they liked each other, yada yada yada, but! things weren't as good as the other couples. They didn't have what the others had. Ollie was a little aback. he wasn't giving the validation and assurance that Demi needed, which Jasmine had pointed out earlier but, he just walked away as he didn't wan

Jumbo Circus Chennai 2024- My Experience as a Viewer

Jumbo Circus in Chennai is a whole other experience compared to Jumbo Circus in non-city/ rural places. I watched the performances in Nagercoil (rural India) 5 years back and I have watched the performances in Chennai city two weeks back. Surprisingly, the former was way better than the latter! I imagined the opposite, why? Chennai has become an overly commercialized place with too many malls, expensive food joints, and crowded and polluted beaches that people are bored of so there would be a lot of people interested in going and watching and it's been 5 years too.  Weekend? Yay! What can we do? Go to the mallllll.. where else in this heat?😐 Photo credits: starofmysore.com So when I saw the Jumbo circus posters everywhere in the city, behind the auto walas (tuk tuk) and on the city walls, I thought to myself, "hmm... let's do THAT this weekend. It will be fun, especially for my kid. And they are probably gonna perform better in the city, right?" Oh ho! how I was SO w

Tripping with a 9-month-old

So my husband & I are out of our minds. We have decided to go on a trip to Kodaikanal (hills in Tamilnadu, India) this weekend. Why Kodaikanal? cuz Manjummel Boys of course (an Indian film associated with the place which became a big hit pan India). Planning the trip was pretty intense for me because the last thing I want to do is to go on a trip. I am a working mom and it's only the weekends that I get to rest a little. A trip is to relax, but it would mean the opposite with a baby. I do not want to be lifting weights the whole time if you know what I mean (it's my cutie lil baby). My baby is still dependent on me, he's 9 months now, crawling and standing with support, but not yet walking. Sure, my husband takes care of him when I INSIST, but he's no use let's be real here. My husband needs a prompt from me to do things which is not too bad, I guess (crying in silence). Anyway, he's been doing the big things for me like packing my things, shopping for the t

The Untold Story of Feeding Rooms in the Malls of Chennai

I feel embarrassed tbh, to even be talking about this. I am a mom of a 9-month-old. I'd love to stay at home chillin' in my PJs, Netflix all day every day with my kid playing around. But, every now and then I wish to go out and I want my kid to see the world as well. I want to take him out and see new faces and new places! Just 2 weeks back we celebrated Women's Day... I still think that such a day is so overrated. Women in corporate offices get some nice goodies, women at home are wished by their husbands (or not), and women together share in their WhatsApp status. But is that really it? We women have certain privileges like a facility in malls and public spaces for breastfeeding mothers to feed their babies. It's no wonder women everywhere are screaming for their rights because we are still denied things like a clean well-maintained feeding room! What I think of- 'Ocean's 8' The Movie

What I think of- 'Ocean's 8' the movie Ocean's 8 is one of those movies which becomes a box office hit because of the casting of well known renowned actors. The movie involves the stealing of a jewelry as the trailer reveals. The concoction of Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway and Rihanna just makes us jump out of our homes and go watch the movie no matter what! What I like in the movie Ocean's 8? I liked it that it was thrilling to watch though the plot was revealed in the trailer and the casts talking about it in various talk shows. The cast was perfect and there seems to be a lot of fun and suspense in the end too. It portrays women power and the movie gave a ''mission impossible'' feel. Basically, the cast is the best part of the movie.  What I dislike in the movie Ocean's 8? There are 3 things I disliked- 1) I did not like the plot so much. It was just another regular crime movie plot made best

What I think of- "Lust Stories" the movie

Lust Stories Movie Review Lust Stories is a Netflix original movie that tells the stories of 4 women who have trouble in their lives with decisions relating to sex. These 4 stories of women are directed by 4 different directors describing the different types of problems they face. What I like in "Lust Stories''? I like that the movie makes a statement that sex is nothing to be hidden. Sex is nothing that must be whispered anymore. It is something that is real and there's no need to be awkward around that topic when it pops up. I appreciate that the makers of the movie wanted to make this to be acknowledged to the audience. What I did not like in "Lust Stories''? There are 3 things that I just hated about the movie. 1)Masturbation The Movie portrays masturbation in one of the stories. I do not like the fact that these kinds of influences are being made in movies be it any movie for a fact. Masturbation is giving pleasure t
