About Me

Hello there! I’m a Social Science Researcher and Policy Analyst working at Peninsular Research Operation Pvt. Ltd., based in the bustling neighborhood of  Teynampet, Chennai, where the traffic is as complex as the research papers we churn out!

I spent my early years in Muscat, Oman, but when it was time for higher studies, I packed my bags (and my curiosity) and flew down to Chennai. Now, Chennai and Oman might be just a few flight hours apart, but let me tell you — the contrast in lifestyles is like comparing a beach vacation with a roller-coaster ride! The people, their behaviors, the fact that you can find different strata of people in the same sq. ft area... it all got me thinking — and thinking some more.

Why Social Science?

I'm intrigued by people and their choices. Why do we do what we do? And sometimes, why do we do the things we really shouldn’t? (*cough* binge-watching reality TV instead of working *cough*). These questions led me to research, and I've been trying to figure out the "why" behind our actions ever since.

For my Master's thesis, I dove into research with children living in residential institutions. The experience opened my eyes to the complex emotions, thoughts, and challenges that shape a person's life. After all, the human mind is like a never-ending game of Sudoku — the more you think you've figured it out, the more you realize there’s still work to be done!

What’s My Blog About?

This blog is a mix of personal reflections and my professional research work. I’ll share some reviews, stories from my own life, and my thoughts on topics that really matter to me — both personally and academically. One day, I might dive into a policy analysis; the next, I could be reviewing the latest show on Netflix or telling you about my latest life adventure (yes, those happen too!).

So buckle up, and welcome to my world — it’s a blend of science, a dash of policy, and a sprinkle of fun!

What I think of- 'Ocean's 8' The Movie

What I think of- 'Ocean's 8' the movie Ocean's 8 is one of those movies which becomes a box office hit because of the casting of well known renowned actors. The movie involves the stealing of a jewelry as the trailer reveals. The concoction of Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway and Rihanna just makes us jump out of our homes and go watch the movie no matter what! What I like in the movie Ocean's 8? I liked it that it was thrilling to watch though the plot was revealed in the trailer and the casts talking about it in various talk shows. The cast was perfect and there seems to be a lot of fun and suspense in the end too. It portrays women power and the movie gave a ''mission impossible'' feel. Basically, the cast is the best part of the movie.  What I dislike in the movie Ocean's 8? There are 3 things I disliked- 1) I did not like the plot so much. It was just another regular crime movie plot made best

Tripping with a 9-month-old

So my husband & I are out of our minds. We have decided to go on a trip to Kodaikanal (hills in Tamilnadu, India) this weekend. Why Kodaikanal? cuz Manjummel Boys of course (an Indian film associated with the place which became a big hit pan India). Planning the trip was pretty intense for me because the last thing I want to do is to go on a trip. I am a working mom and it's only the weekends that I get to rest a little. A trip is to relax, but it would mean the opposite with a baby. I do not want to be lifting weights the whole time if you know what I mean (it's my cutie lil baby). My baby is still dependent on me, he's 9 months now, crawling and standing with support, but not yet walking. Sure, my husband takes care of him when I INSIST, but he's no use let's be real here. My husband needs a prompt from me to do things which is not too bad, I guess (crying in silence). Anyway, he's been doing the big things for me like packing my things, shopping for the t
